Maine/Marquette preview: Five players to watch for in Saturday's game

On Saturday, the Maine Black Bears (2-4) travel to Milwaukee, Wisc., to take on the Marquette Golden Eagles (5-2) at the BMO Harris Bradley Center in an America East/Big East showdown.

Here are five players who could have impact on the game:

1) Marquette forward Henry Ellenson:

After all of the hype surrounding the McDonald's All-American going into his freshman season, Ellenson has lived up to the billing thus far leading to Golden Eagles in scoring and rebounding with 15.3 and 9.6 per game, respectively.

In the 95-49 victory over Grambling State on Dec. 2, Ellenson finished with 16 points and eight rebounds and will be counted on with his versatility if Marquette wants to make its winning streak surge to five games.

2) Marquette center Luke Fischer:

Fischer will look to continue his solid start to the 2015-16 season Saturday as he comes into the meeting against Maine scoring double figures in four straight games.

The best performance of the season thus far for Fischer came in an 81-80 win over Ben Simmons and the LSU Tigers in the Legends Classic on Nov. 23 with 19 points and eight rebounds.

3) Marquette guard Duane Wilson:

Coming into Saturday's game, Wilson has scored in double figures in all seven games and is third in scoring on Marquette with 13.9 PPG.

4) Maine forward Issac Vann:

Despite being limted to four games this season due to an ankle injury, Vann has made an impact on the offensive end leading the Black Bears in scoring with 15.8 per game.

Vann's status for Saturday's game at Marquette is up in the air, but if he can play and produce double-digit points, then Maine could find its way to pull a major upset.

5) Maine forward Devine Eke:

In the wake of Vann's injury, Eke has stepped up in the role of Maine's primary offensive threat with 12.7 PPG and leads the squad with 7.2 rebounds per game.

In a 84-71 loss against Army on Dec. 2, Eke posted season-highs in points (29) and rebounds (16).
