One of the greatest joys of being a college athlete is being recognized for four years of hard work and commitment.

For Matt Carlino, Juan Anderson and Derrick Wilson, Saturday was the final frontier at The Bradley Center as they were honored before tip-off against DePaul.

Despite missing four games in February due to a concussion and transferring from Brigham Young University, Carlino managed to come back and be the Golden Eagles' floor leader.

"It's been different for me adjusting to a new area and dealing with a lot of other things, but more importantly today, the crowd came out and supported the team," Carlino said.

Wilson has seen a lot at Marquette— with coaches from Buzz Williams to Steve Wojciechowski and deep runs into the NCAA Tournament, but today was as special of a moment as it gets.

"I've been through a lot here for four years and thankful to be in the Sweet 16 and Elite Eight and win a BIG EAST Title," Wilson said. "As a team, we accomplished a lot in my time here.

Wilson also talked about how the bonding with Anderson on and off the court over the past four years.

"Me and Juan have been through a lot in the last four years and to add Matt along this year, has been a great addition," Wilson said.

These three gentlemen are shining examples of what college sports is all about— class and determination.
