TCU/Minnesota Depth Chart

On the eve of TCU/Minnesota, what better time than now to highlight notable details from each squad's depth chart:

- After losing six of its top seven tacklers on defense from last season, TCU will go into Thursday's game without two more players– defensive end James McFarland and cornerback DeShawn Raymond.

- McFarland's loss is more significant given that he led the Horned Frogs in sacks with seven last season and was named the Defensive MVP in the Peach Bowl.

- Although, McFarland and Raymond were not listed on the depth chart, Horned Frogs coach Gary Patterson would not elaborate any further on the matter.

- "You'll find out when we get to game time," Patterson said in a story in the Star-Telegram.

Key Injuries:

- Other defensive players with injuries, but listed on the depth chart and expected to play: cornerback Torrance Mosley (groin), defensive tackle Davion Pierson (undisclosed), defensive end Mike Tuaua (undisclosed) and linebacker Montrel Wilson (undisclosed).

- One of the tighter races in fall camp was the middle linebacker   position left in wake of Damien Wilson's graduation as Cody Poock beat out Everett Williams for the starting spot.

- On the offensive line, Josh Campion will start at left tackle, with Ben Lauer serving as the back-up.

- Lauer underwent a minor surgical procedure on his knee during camp and will be coming off the bench against TCU. It will be interesting see how much the coaches decide to use Lauer on Thursday, if any.

Key Scratches:

- The Gophers' tight end situation will be frugal at best with the loss of its top two players in Duke Anyanwu and Lincoln Plsek. Brandon Lingen and Nate Wozniak are listed as the H and Y tight ends, respectively on the chart.

- Despite the setback, the coaching staff has been impressed by the development of Lingen and Wozniak and could be targeted a lot against TCU for opportunities.
